UP TO 30% INCENTIVE ON QUALIFIED SPEND
Between the State of Texas and the City of San Antonio, your film can qualify for up to 30% back on qualifying spend. Here’s more information on each program.
$200M Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program (TMIIIP)
TMIIIP's recently announced a $200M incentive program - four times the amount from previous years. Qualifying projects can claim up to 22.5% back on their spending. Shooting in San Antonio could get you up to a 30% total rebate. For Texas-based work outside of the 8 qualifying Texas counties, additional cash grants are available to bump up the 22.5% based on spend. You can get your TMIIIP application in up to 180 days before your cameras roll.
SUPPLEMENTAL SAN ANTONIO FILM INCETIVE PROGRAM (SSAI)
We're buzzing to present the SSAI, ready to put up to 7.5% of local project spending back in your pocket. Join this up with Texas' statewide program, and you could see up to a 30% rebate - the highest in the state.
SSAI's major highlights:
You need to keep 60% of the cameras rolling in the greater San Antonio area. This includes Bexar and its 8 surrounding counties, over 7,250 square miles.
Requires a minimum spend of $100,000.
Make sure 70% of your cast and crew are Texas residents (with at least 10% being San Antonio locals).
Your main production office and accommodations should be nestled in San Antonio city limits. (Ideally at Mighty Industries ;) )
The SSAI cashback lands in your lap once the project wraps and passes their audit. It's a 'first-come, first-served' kind of deal, so check out SSAI Guidelines for more specifics.
